Within the framework of various research projects of the Applied Zoology and Nature Conservation Group of the University of Greifswald, we have set up so-called photo traps in various bat hibernation sites. These are cameras that are coupled to light barriers and are triggered whenever a bat flies through the entrance of the site.
Take part in our competition! Identifying bats is sometimes easy, but sometimes it can be quite difficult! Therefore we have 3 levels in our project, from beginner to professional.
With the help of the identification key you can quickly learn how to distinguish between the species. However, it is often difficult, because many species are very similar. As a start we have provided a training with 10 bat photos for you, which you have to complete before you can really start!
Start training (you have to be registered and logged in) or try it out in the demo version
We have evaluated the first round, in which students tested the photos.
